Activities

On the weekends there are opportunities for fun and relaxation as our boarders are encouraged to take part in the wide range of events, activities and outings offered as well as participate in the school’s sporting teams.

We take advantage of our close proximity to many of England’s famous historical towns and sights and the girls visit such locations as Bath, Wells, Glastonbury Tor, Stourhead House and Gardens, Avebury, Dorset’s “Jurassic Coast” and Longleat.

Friday night is Cinema night and girls can enjoy the latest releases or watch DVDs in house. Shopping trips to Bath, Bristol or Yeovil are always popular as are visits to museums, the @Bristol science centre, theatre trips and swimming at “Splashdown”. Themed events such as a “Murder Mystery” visit to Stourhead and a photographic competition at Barrington Court give the girls a chance to explore our nearby National Trust properties.

In-school workshops for music, art, dance and drama are offered as well as the use of our sporting facilities or girls may wish to enjoy quiet time reading, chatting to the girls in house or to their friends and family many miles away online. Our beautiful countryside setting is enjoyed by the girls on Sunday walks or simply relaxing in the gardens and terraces of the boarding houses.

Social events with students from other boarding schools are a feature of our weekend program for all Senior School and Sixth Form students. Sixth Form boarders can also make use of the dining facilities in house and have their own dinner parties with friends and invited guests.
