The Deputy Head (Boarding and Welfare) lives on site and is responsible for our boarding houses. These are staffed by housemistresses who provide care, comfort and support to our boarding family.
Girls in the Preparatory School and Senior School Forms 1, 2 and 3 reside in The Old Vicarage, known to us as simply “Old Vic”. A charming former Vicarage, Old Vic provides our younger boarders with a home away from home where everyone can find their own space or enjoy the company of their friends. The girls have the use of communal areas including a cosy library, common room with kitchen facilities, computers with internet and email access and a games room. The bedrooms vary by year group with the youngest girls sharing rooms with small groups of friends and the older girls having their own personal space within a shared room allowing them the privacy to study together with the companionship of their peers.
Highcroft is our boarding house for girls in Forms 4, 5 and the Sixth Form. A modern house, Highcroft caters to the growing independence of our senior students whilst recognising their growing academic workloads. Highcroft has two common rooms with kitchen facilities, an IT suite, games area and dining room with a kitchen where Sixth Form girls can prepare meals and entertain guests. Every girl has her own bedroom with study desk, wash basin, telephone and computer point. Highcroft is situated in its own grounds and the girls enjoy the opportunity to sit at one of the many picnic tables for social, work or personal time and take in our beautiful surroundings.
