Nursery Life

Learning is not limited to the classroom. The children sing, dance, perform concerts, run, play, climb on the activity trail, dig, plant, explore the beautiful surroundings and learn about the world around them.

Learning in and out of the classroom is enriched by the varied and well-equipped facilities and we encourage all the children to participate in activities involving music, art, drama and dance.  Children in the Nursery often join Sunny Hill Pre-Prep pupils for example at playtime, for assembly or other activities, such as the Christmas play.  Visitors to the classroom and trips out further enhance the children’s learning and, weather permitting, they enjoy the use of our dedicated outdoor play area.  The children benefit from well-qualified teachers that include specialists in Music and PE and, in the summer, they have swimming lessons in our outdoor heated swimming pool.

All Nursery and Pre-Prep pupils lunch together in the school’s dining hall and our in-school caterers provide a nutritious, hot and tasty menu. They practice good table manners and enjoy the social aspect of sharing a meal with friends. Snacks are also provided throughout the day.
