Entrance Examinations
All girls joining the Senior School at Bruton School for Girls are required to sit entrance examinations chiefly for diagnostic purposes. These are normally held in the January prior to their year of entry although in special circumstances, such as a mid-year enrolment, we will allow girls to sit the examinations individually. Papers for entry to Form 1 (11+) are taken in Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning. Between exams we organise activities for the girls to participate in. This may be for example a Modern Languages game or a Science experiment. These activities provide the girls with some time out from the exams and also gives them an opportunity to meet some of the other students joining their class. For Form 3 (13+) entry, girls take examinations in Maths, English, Science and Verbal Reasoning.
