Offer and Acceptance of a Place

An offer of a place in the Senior School and Sixth Form is made in writing by the Headmistress following the completion of entrance assessments.

For children entering the Reception Class, Pre-Prep and Prep School, an offer of a place will be made in writing by the Head of Prep following their Taster Day visit.

To accept a place we ask you to return the signed Acceptance Form (signed by both parents with parental responsibility) and payment of the deposit of £250 for UK students and £500 for International students. Payment can be made by online bank transfer or a cheque returned with the Acceptance Form. Please note that once your child’s place has been confirmed, we require one term’s written notice if you decide to withdraw your child (please see Section 4 of the Declaration on the Registration Form and refer to the school’s Terms and Conditions for details).

On receipt of your acceptance form and fee, your child’s place at Bruton School for Girls/Sunny Hill Preparatory School is confirmed.

For pupils joining the Nursery, the registration form and registration fee of £50 must be received prior to your child’s first session. No acceptance deposit is required. Nursery sessions are booked a term in advance and charged accordingly. Additional sessions may be requested, space permitting, and are charged extra. While there is no acceptance form, once we have written to confirm your child’s sessions in the Sunny Hill Nursery if, for any reason, you decide to withdraw your child from the school, we require one term’s written notice as detailed in Section 4 of the Declaration on the Registration Form.

Children over the age of three years are currently eligible for the Early Years Entitlement funding, commencing the term following their third birthday. The school will deduct the funding from its fees. Children are entitled to the funding up to and including the term in which they turn five, whether or not they have moved into the Reception class.

After you have confirmed your acceptance by returning the form and payment, we would very much like to communicate with you as part of the school community. We will keep you up-to-date with the latest news from the school, prior to your child starting. You will be forwarded a Parent Log In which will enable you to access additional information online, including the Welcome Pack.

Once you receive these we ask that you complete and return the New Starter forms prior to your child joining us.
